¹⁵ So he said, “You know that ^(A)the kingdom was mine and ^(B)that all Israel ^[a]expected me to be king; ^(C)however, the kingdom has turned about and become my brother’s, ^(D)for it was his from Yahweh. ¹⁶ So now, I am making one request of you; do not ^[b]turn me away.” And she said to him, “Speak.” ¹⁷ Then he said, “Please speak to Solomon the king, for he will not ^[c]turn you away, that he may give me ^(E)Abishag the Shunammite as a wife.”
